Acts 2:8(ESV)
And how is it that we hear, each of us in his own native language?
For years, the gospel of Jesus Christ had been thwarted because of a language barrier. But then, the Galilean men who were entrusted to spread His good news addressed an audience consisting of Greeks, Arabs, Egyptians, Cretes, Romans, and men and women from other eastern countries. Each person heard the men speak in his or her own language, and as a result, the good news of the gospel was able to spread far and wide in a short period of time.
Two thousand years prior to that moment, an event occurred that caused the language barrier in the first place. Men had decided not to trust God when He said He would never destroy the world again by flood, but rather fire.
Because of their unbelief in what God had said, mankind built the tower of Babel to protect themselves from what they believed was another impending flood. They decided to build it into the heavens, and they would have accomplished it had God not confounded their language. There is nothing more powerful than unity; a group of men and woman of singular mind working toward one goal can be virtually unstoppable.
On the day of Pentecost, the people came together in obedience, and all barriers and hindrances were removed. They were able to accomplish a great deal of work in a short period of time.
Do you have hopes, dreams, and plans for your life, but you seem to be met with many hindrances? Today, I challenge you to submit to God those plans which you have built on faith in His promises, and you will find large barriers removed. The language you begin to speak will resonate wherever you go, and obstacles you once thought were immovable and permanent will suddenly disappear.
